Description: Red Ketapang is found in the Ketapang jungle on the island of Borneo, Indonesia. It is native to the country. With white bark surrounding its trunk, this 80 to 100 foot tall trees grow in the hot sun in Indonesia to provide some of the strongest properties of this new and wild strain. It has a soothing aroma to please many.

All our Kratom products are 100% Mitragyna Speciosa leaf. It comes from the coffee family, and is of the Premium variety. “Premium” means that it is leaf powder. Not stems and veins to add additional weight. Only pure leaf. We pay more for this because we believe that it is our responsibility to provide the best product we can . . . consistently. We do not add any fillers of any kind to our Kratom.

Many of the strains of Kratom that we carry grow naturally in the wild from the forests of Indonesia, and they are wild harvested. Many strains are plantation-raised in the same region. Plantation strains are sometimes better. We carry both wild and plantation-raised depending on the strain. For most strains, we carry both. All our Kratom products are naturally air dried and ground ultra fine similar to flour.

Wild vs Plantation-Raised: Explanation of minor differences
Wild comes from the forests of Indonesia, be it Bali, Borneo, Sumatra or Ketapang. They are harvested directly from wilderness areas. The beauty of these trees, be it next to a river or in the middle of the forest, is that they are unique and powerful in many ways. Plantations have over time eliminated some of the poorer strains during growing, and gained more of the better strains. Our quality standards are similar for both harvesting methods. We want the best and work hard to stay there.

One of those special strains from In Sense that gets delivered by way of the curve ball of actually being Wild Grown, is their Red Ketapang. I imagine that there are no plantations nearby, so it’s either sell this aroma drenched beauty, or deny the customers who only frequent In Sense Botanicals, and not the sister site Gold Leaf Botanicals, which focuses on Wild Grown Kratom, the opportunity to experience this.
It has an identical description at both sites.
It’s very fresh, and the aroma is in accord with that. Fresh smelling Kratom can be dominated by smelling generically plant like, but not this Red Ketapang. It has an aroma as complex as something that went through some sophisticated curing, but without losing the essence of freshly harvested wild grown Kratom.
This is wild grown, and it smells like it’s loaded with alkaloids, and whatever curing it got didn’t mess up an already bountiful expression of what good Kratom can offer. It strikes me as if it was harvested with a good amount of Kratom’s two main alkaloids already naturally present, so heavy drying/curing to bring either of them up probably wasn’t needed.
